Nitro PDF Pro for Windows now supports multiple languages from a single installation package, which simplifies the installation deployment experience and allows users to easily change languages post-installation without re-installing Nitro PDF Pro in the alternate language.
Key benefits:

Previously, some PDFs containing TIFF images were rendered without the TIFF image displayed or the editing experience was not sufficient. Now, Nitro PDF Pro decodes and renders the TIFF images correctly and the editing experience has been enhanced.
Improved Nitro PDF Pro Performance on a Network Drive
Nitro PDF Pro is now more robust and responsive when working with a document on a network drive.
Because it can be challenging to work with a network drive document and a slow network, Nitro PDF Pro now ensures that progress of any document operation is reflected properly within the user interface while the product remains responsive.
Improved Performance for PDFs with a Large Number of Form Fields
Nitro PDF Pro has improved performance when working with many form fields. Documents with many form fields are now significantly faster when text is being input to give users a superior experience.

The latest version of Nitro PDF Pro extends support to the $ character in PDF URLs.
As a result, a user can also open a URL with the embedded $ symbol, from within a Nitro PDF Pro PDF document.
Improved Comparison Tool Accuracy
In this version, Nitro PDF Pro improves the reliability of the Compare tool.
Previously, the Compare tool was not detecting some document changes. This enhancement reduces the amount of false positive results the system produces, when in fact no changes were detected.
Enhancement to Numerical Values
This version contains an enhancement around conversions from PDF to Microsoft Excel documents.
Previously, converting some documents resulted in numerical data presented as text, which made it difficult to apply formulas to cells.
Documents affected the most were those with formatting that included numbers with a coma separating groups of thousands. In the new version, Nitro PDF Pro converts numbers with improved accuracy and applies the correct data type to numerical cells.
Improved Document Navigation
This release contains an improved user experience when navigating between documents in Nitro PDF Pro.
A user may now navigate back and forth between document views, and perform functions such as a changing zoom, moving between pages and bookmarks etc. This provides for a more efficient user experience.

Digital Signatures
DocuSign Documents Retain Validity When Opened in Nitro Pro
Nitro PDF Pro extends the range of supported digitally signed documents.
This version includes support for DocuSign signed documents, which is now recognized and validated accordingly.
Digital Signature Field Support
Previously, Nitro PDF Pro did not support submitting a PDF form that contained mandatory digital signatures fields.
Such fields had to be excluded or marked as optional. A new version of Nitro Pro supports recognizes the mandatory digital signature fields and allows the user to submit a PDF form with filled data.
Notification of Timestamp Failure
Previously, if a user attempted to apply a timestamp from a server and the operation failed, the timestamp from the user’s local computer clock was applied. This was done without any notification to the user that the local computer timestamp was used instead of the server timestamp.
To reduce uncertainty about digital signature validity, Nitro Pro improves messaging when applying a digital signature to the document.
Now, if the operation fails when attempting to apply the timestamp from the remote server, the user sees a message that the local timestamp was applied to the signature instead of the remote server timestamp.
Security
Nitro PDF Pro Bookmark Security Enhancement
With the latest version of Nitro PDF Pro, a user can be confident that deleting a page, and any bookmarks related to that page, have also been deleted.
This prevents exposing sensitive information that could have been included in any bookmarks.

General Enhancements
Ability to Define Entry Point to SharePoint
Nitro Pro makes the access point to SharePoint more flexible.
In many cases, an organizational SharePoint communication site was at a top level. Meaning, Nitro Pro only connected to that point, not specific department pages. Some organizations do not have a top level of SharePoint, making SharePoint inaccessible by Nitro Pro. This was not an ideal experience.
To solve this problem, the latest version of Nitro Pro allows a power user to predefine the path to the SharePoint site. This also guarantees that users will access a site to which they have permission. This also saves users from searching for the "right" site among all the sites available on SharePoint server sites.
Nitro Pro Office Add-In
The latest contains an improvement around the Nitro Pro Office add-in for 32-bit Office users on the 64-bit operation system.
Previously users with the 64-bit environment might experience difficulties with enabling the Nitro Pro Office add-in. The new version of Nitro Pro not only resolves this issue, but includes a more robust Office add-in.
Embedded Font + Serch, Copy and Paste Functionality
When using Search and Copy-Paste functionality in documents with embedded fonts, those functions now perform in a more reliable fashion.
Digital Signature and Certificates
Digital Signature and Time Stamp Viability
In the latest release, Nitro Pro respects the list of time stamp servers added into Preferences. When applying a digital signature to a document, Nitro Pro defaults to the listed server to request the time stamp, instead of the local operating system.
Using the server time stamp rather than the local operating system has proved to be a trusted form of reference. It also ensures long-term validation and confidence around the signature and when it was actually applied.
Digital Signature Reliability
In this release, Nitro Pro prevents users from applying signatures with expired or not yet valid certificates. This enhancement improves digital signature reliability.
Improved Redaction and Optimization
When applying redaction now, by default, Nitro Pro performs better document inspection on hidden information and prevents hidden data from leaking.
iManage
Seamless iManage Check-in Process
This release contains several enhancements related to iManage workflow robustness.
Previously, users might experience difficulties checking in a document to the server with a custom name or when working with a document with Azure Information Protection.
Stability and Robustness
Auto-recovery Improvements

Complex Document Performance

This is important, as it preserves the availability of a document and those original settings, even if the document was modified.
Microsoft Outlook PDF Attachment Enhancement
With regards to Microsoft Outlook, this release improved the user experience of digitally signing PDF documents opened as an email attachment. This is applicable to versions 13.44 of Nitro or newer.
Digital Signature Experience

Security and Reliability
Improved Performance with External Objects
In some cases, a user of Nitro Pro might have experienced slowness or hanging when working with PDF document that referenced external objects.
In this release, Nitro Pro optimizes the amount of consumed memory when working with such documents. This prevents disruptions in the users workflow and makes the application more reliable.
Enhanced Redaction Performance
In some cases, Nitro Pro became unresponsive when the user applied redaction to a large document. With the latest release, Nitro Pro is more interactive when redaction occurs, providing the user with a frequent update on progress.
Improved Redaction and Optimization
When applying redaction now, by default, Nitro Pro performs better document inspection on hidden information and prevents hidden data from leaking.
Enhanced Security for Extracting Pages with Bookmarks
This release contains enhanced security when extracting pages from a PDF document with bookmarks.
This means the final document contains only the bookmarks that belong to the extracted pages. As a result, Nitro Pro provides accuracy in data matching between the bookmarks and the document content. This also prevents the original document data from leaking into the final document.
Vulnerability
This release contained two security enhancements that resolved known vulnerabilities. For more information, please visit Nitro’s Security Updates website page.
Document Optimization
Robust Document Optimization
In this version, Nitro Pro performs better compression of the document by removing unused default object references and reducing document size.
iManage
Enhanced Security for Extracting Pages with Bookmarks
Nitro Pro both adapts and supports the latest updates of the iManage API. Recently, users could experience trouble opening iManage documents in Nitro Pro due to changes in the iManage API.
This release of Nitro Pro is compatible with changes to iManage and allows the user to work with iManage documents in normal mode.
NOTE:
It is highly recommended iManage users update Nitro Pro to version 13.50, especially if their iManage server was updated to v10.4+ or they are using global iManage Cloud.Improved iManage Reliability
In this release, signing an iManage document becomes more reliable and predictable.
Previously, a signed iManage document might become checked in while still open in Nitro Pro. This could put a document at risk of possible external modification and loss of data.
In the new version, Nitro Pro behavior is more consistent with other workflows: the iManage document remains checked out by the user after signing until the user closes the document in Nitro Pro.
-
Release date: September 10, 2021

- Workaround: Close the original document and reopen it through Worksite.
- The OmTool plugin does not support multiple instances. If you need to use Worksite and/or Sharepoint, use native integration instead.
