Microsoft Intune Integration for iOS

Microsoft Intune is a cloud-based service that manages and protects an organization's devices, apps, and data. It can be used to manage mobile devices, desktop computers, and virtual endpoints.

Prerequisites

  • Microsoft Intune admin access
  • Latest version of Nitro PDF Pro (preferred)
  • A device iOS supported by the product version

To Add Nitro PDF Pro to Microsoft Intune

  1. Sign in to the Microsoft Intune admin center
  2. Go to Apps > iOS/iPadOS > Add
  3. Select App Store app as the app type
  4. In the Search the App Store field, enter Nitro PDF Pro
  5. Select Nitro PDF Pro - iPad & iPhone from the results
  6. Click Select, then Next
  7. Enter the required app details and configure app information as needed
  8. Click Next, review the settings, and select Create

To Assign Nitro PDF Pro to Users or Devices

  1. In the Microsoft Intune admin center, go to Apps > iOS/iPadOS
  2. Select Nitro PDF Pro - iPad & iPhone
  3. Click Assignments > Add group
  4. Choose a group of users or devices that will receive the application
  5. Select the assignment type:
  1. Required: The app installs automatically
  2. Available for enrolled devices: Users can install the app from the Company Portal
  3. Uninstall: The app is removed from devices

6. Click Save

To Monitor Deployment

  1. In the Microsoft Intune admin center, go to Apps > iOS/iPadOS
  2. Select Nitro PDF Pro - iPad & iPhone
  3. Click Device install status or User install status
  4. Review the installation progress and troubleshoot any errors

FAQs about Intune for iOS

  • Does Nitro PDF Pro support AppConfig files to control certain app behaviors?
    No. Nitro PDF Pro does not support AppConfig files at this time. However, a future release will include limited support.
  • How can end users access and open company documents in Nitro PDF Pro for iOS?
    Document access depends on company policies. The company Admin can provide guidance on how to access documents and use specific cloud services.
  • Can end users download files from OneDrive?
    If documents are stored in OneDrive, users can download them. However, syncing and sharing are not supported. As a workaround, users can use the Apple Share Sheet if OneDrive is a managed app.
  • If I have a separate Nitro PDF Pro account, can I access personal documents in the same app?
    Access to personal documents depends on company Intune policies. If company policies restrict personal file access, users cannot open personal documents in the app.
  • Is there a different installation of Nitro PDF Pro for Intune?
    No. Nitro PDF Pro for iPad and iPhone with Intune integration is the same version available in the App Store. There is no separate installation.

However, with Intune, Admins can apply app-level policies. These policies can restrict access to files, data, and settings. Admins can also control actions such as copying content, taking screenshots, and recording screencasts to improve security and compliance.
