Use Nitro’s advanced online tools to detect and extract data from your PDF. Extracted content is exported into a Microsoft® Excel spreadsheet. Your new file will be saved to the same folder as the original.
Access to Nitro’s advanced online services and tools from within the app is managed through the Nitro Admin portal via Settings > Preferences. See Getting Started in Nitro Workspace and Preferences For Application Downloads, Online Services and Help Resources for more information on enabling and disabling these services and tools.
Extract Table Data
To extract table data from your PDF (Files/ Documents view):
- Launch the Nitro PDF Pro app.
- From Files/ Documents view, long press on a document to reveal the context menu.
- From the context menu, choose “Extract Table Data.”
- In the dialog that appears, tap “Extract Table Data” to confirm.
- A progress bar will appear, allowing you to monitor the extraction progress.
- Once the process is complete, you can view exported data in Excel, Numbers, or any other spreadsheet application of choice supporting .xslx format.
To extract table data from your PDF (Page view):
- From Files/ Documents view, tap to open a PDF document for editing.
- In Page view, tap the down arrow to the right of the document’s title in the Toolbar for more options.
- Choose “Extract Table Data.”
- In the dialog that appears, tap “Extract Table Data” to confirm.
- A progress bar will appear, allowing you to monitor the extraction progress.
- Once the process is complete, you can view exported data in Excel, Numbers, or any other spreadsheet application of choice supporting .xslx format.

- These tools are available only to users who log in with a Nitro account. Access to Advanced Tools (Online Services) is controlled via the Nitro accounts Admin portal.
